A piece of writing is one writing that outlines the author’s arguments. However the definition of an essay can be ambiguous and could include a letter, personal article, pamphlets, or an essay, or an account. Essays were traditionally thought of as formal and academic. However, we have seen a change in the kinds of essays we read, as well and in the manner in which we evaluate them. Essays aren’t dying or extinct. It has evolved into a hybrid format which can be described as a variety of things at once. Essays can now be multifaceted entities. A typical essay can be written in many different ways. Here are some examples below.
Narrative The term “narrative essay” refers to an essay that tells the whole story. It has no introduction and starts with the first line. The type of essay you write can include both an introduction and an end. It is not required that you begin writing at the beginning. If you are unsure of the direction you want to go begin writing your introduction and body in the same order so you will be aware of where you are going.
Abstract: An abstract essay is about something that do not have a specific subject and instead relies on general ideas. It uses a more general language and usually uses figurative language. Abstracts can be argumentative, descriptive, fictional, or a combination of both. Each paragraph should contain a strong conclusion where you summarise your points and call for action for your reader. The conclusion is an opportunity for you to restate your thesis statement and to argue for it being important to you as an individual.
